Our Fun-Filled Weekend Getaway to Crocker Park
My husband and I recently took our kids on a weekend getaway to Crocker Park for a fun weekend getaway. It was the perfect mini-vacation, filled with fun, laughter, and some great discoveries that I can't wait to share! Thank you Crocker Park for hosting us. We had the best time!! #hosted
Checking In: Hyatt Place at Crocker Park
We stayed at the Hyatt Place at Crocker Park, which made our adventures super convenient. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and impeccable service. The hotel was spotless, beautifully designed, and the staff were incredibly friendly. They offered a complimentary breakfast every morning and free coffee until 6 pm—a lifesaver for parents traveling with kids! Another highlight was the Chromecast, which made it easy to sign into our accounts. This small touch made a big difference when the kids needed some downtime.
Exploring Crocker Park
Upon check-in, we were given a few maps, and the kids had a blast using them to navigate. Our first stops were the train ride and the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory—no surprises there with our little ones leading the way! The train ride, located right in front of the chocolate store, is an absolute must-do with kids. It gave us a quick tour of the area, sparking excitement and helping us plan our weekend adventures.
Shopping Highlights
Where I’m From: One of our goals was to buy local. The store is filled with unique, locally-inspired apparel, and we all left with favorite shirts, including one that my son absolutely loves.
Sephora: The girls picked out a couple of must-haves. The staff went above and beyond to help me find the perfect foundation and introduced me to a game-changing color correcting cream with SPF 30. Their dedication to finding the right product was impressive and made our experience even better. I’ve never had such a positive experience in Sephora like we did here.
Emily Roggenburk: This store reminded me of a few local shops in Columbus but with a unique inventory. The stylish and distinct pieces caught my eye, and I recently found a sweatshirt on their website that I wish I had bought while we were there! Give them a follow on social.
Whimsy Willow: As we prepare to move, I’ve been visiting every home decor store I find. Whimsy Willow is filled with unique pieces you won't find anywhere else. Each item seemed like a treasure, making it a highly recommended stop for everyone.
Banyan Tree: My husband took the kids exploring while I spent a lot of time in this store. It’s full of fun gifts, beautiful dresses, and eye-catching items at every turn. I was constantly impressed by the variety and quality of items. Can't wait to visit again!
Fount: I love everything from Fount and found out next time I can drop my bag off for some TLC which is such a fun added feature. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail in every piece are outstanding.
Delicious Eats
Leo’s: We chose Leo’s for dinner the first night, tempted by the delicious aroma wafting through the air when we were on the train. The food did not disappoint! The bread was a standout, freshly baked and irresistible. Every bite was a delight, making it a memorable start to our adventure.
Mikey’s: My favorite kind of pizza, hands down. Every slice was bursting with flavor, and it was an easy 10/10 for our family.
Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes: As we were leaving, we stopped by Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes and picked up macarons. They were divine, each bite a perfect blend of texture and flavor. I regret not discovering this place sooner—they were amazing!
Crepes in the City: For a morning snack, we tried Crepes in the City. The kids were hesitant at first, but the delicious and beautifully presented crepes quickly won them over. It was something fun and new that the kids still talk about.
A Memorable Trip
The kids are already asking to go back for back-to-school shopping. Our trip to Crocker Park was so much fun and definitely worth the drive. The vibrant atmosphere, the variety of stores, and the delightful eateries made it an unforgettable experience. And the best part? You can get there and back on one tank of gas.
